Attorney Lei Jiang

Attorney Lei Jiang has diverse skills and multicultural background. Born in Shanghai, China, Lei and her family immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1993. In 1997, Ms. Jiang came to the United States for higher education. In 2001, she graduated with two degrees, Computer Science and Business, and ranked number one in both of her classes. She worked as an Engineering Analyst for Lucent Technology right after the college. During that employment, Ms. Jiang was ranked as a top 10 percent performer in Lucent St. Louis Engineering Center. At the same time, she started her own real estate business which steadily grew bigger. Recognizing the importance of law in everyday business, Ms Jiang resigned from her engineering job and attended law school in Cleveland, Ohio.

Through her experience, Lei Jiang realized that she could provide clients her unique combination of expertise and perspective.  So she started her law firm. Being an immigrant herself and successfully petitioned for the immigrant status and later citizenship in both United States and Canada, Ms. Jiang understands why people want to come to the United States and what it takes to achieve that goal. Moreover, Ms. Jiang understands the necessity of legal immigration to U.S. business, especially in the high tech fields. Thus, Ms. Jiang utilizes thorough and creative approaches in immigration practice.

Trained as a computer programmer and worked as a network engineer, Lei Jiang has expertise in both software and hardware technologies. As a result, she understands various issues related to intellectual property and can handle many complex practices in US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).  She practices patent, trademark, and copyright prosecutions.  Ms. Jiang also handles international patent prosecution through Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and Paris Convention. 

Being an entrepreneur herself, Lei Jiang is adept to various business situations and transactions. Moreover, during the law school study, Ms Jiang focused on corporate law and issues, and was on the Cali's list for excellent achievement in the study of Mergers & Acquisitions.  This award is given to the number one student in the college. (She was also on the Cali's list for excellent achievement in the study of Immigration & Nationality Law).

Ms. Jiang strongly believes that attorneys have a responsibility to help strengthening communities in which they are part of and to help those in need of legal service. She has a long history of supporting various charitable organizations and rendering legal service to the poor. Ms Jiang was recognized by the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law for her pro bono and community service and received an award in October 2006 for her work. Her commitment to help the least powerful has continued to today. She is currently serving as the president of Great Cleveland Chinese Women Association, an organization devotes to help Chinese women and new immigrates to adapt the life in U.S.

Lei Jiang has been admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio. She is also a licensed United States patent attorney. Moreover, Ms. Jiang has been admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court Northern District of Ohio, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
